Black History Month - October 2020

At Lionel Primary School, we have been celebrating our diverse culture and having fun learning about Black History.

We have enjoyed researching and listening to the stories of significant figures such as Rosa Parks, Floella Benjamin, Mae Jemison, Nelson Mandela, Katherine Johnson, Martin Luther King and Lewis Hamilton.

We have also taken part in some creative projects that we would like to share with you.

African Drumming

Reception and Year 1 children took part in African drumming music lessons. Thank you Mr Hulihan-Jong, who volunteered to share his music expertise and taught the Year 1 children over Zoom.
