Centre - Peach

Hello Peaches!

Mrs Russell and Ms Martin

A big welcome to Peach Class.  I hope you have managed to keep yourselves safe and well during these uncertain times.  My name is Mrs Russell and Peach Class LSA is Miss Martin.  The children will also be taught by Mrs Walden on Wednesday morning.

We will be having a big focus on reading, spelling, writing and basic maths skills this half term as well as topic work.

Reading:  We will hear your child read daily.  Please make sure their reading book and reading diary is returned every day and that you have heard your child read every night and signed their book.

Spelling:  The children will have spellings to learn weekly, ready for a spelling test on a Friday.  Please make sure they practice these spellings at home.

Maths:  We will be focusing on number formation, counting, place value, addition and subtraction

Homework:  This will be sent home in a couple of weeks and is based on work the children have done in school.

Children need to bring in their PE kit (navy shorts, white tee-shirt and black plimsoles).  All items of kit should be labelled with their names.

PE days are TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY.

Our different topics are:

History:  Toys and games (looking at the differences between toys in the past and now.

Geography:  The UK

Science:  Our changing world (the weather and seasons) and Materials

Computing:  Online safety and ‘Exploring Purple Mash’

Here’s hoping for a great year to come.
