Hello and a big welcome to Rainbow Class!

Our nursery is a fun and happy place to learn and grow together. In Rainbow Class we have a morning and afternoon nursery for 26 children each session. The children learn in a safe and happy environment enjoying challenging and fun activities.

Each half term we plan fun and creative activities based on topics and the children’s interests. Parents are given the topic details each half term and each week a newsletter is sent home informing parents of the learning opportunities in Rainbow Class.

The learning and achievements of all the children in Rainbow Class are recorded in their learning journeys. These show the story of the children’s learning throughout their time in nursery. The children are encouraged to talk about the photographs and work that is included in them. Parents can support their children with the development of their learning journeys by sending in any photographs or things the children have done at home which will be included in them. There are also WOW moment sheets that can be collected from class to write down anything your child does that makes you think wow!

Before the children start in Rainbow class we have parent meetings in the summer term. All parents are invited into school to meet the staff and find out about the nursery. At the meetings parents are able to make appointments for home visits in September before their child begins school. The staff will visit you and your child at home for a brief informal visit. Appointments can also be made to visit the nursery in September the week before your child starts. This gives the children the opportunity to meet the staff and explore their new learning environment and to meet other children who will be in their class. This has been a great success over previous years and really helps the children with settling into the nursery.

Autumn 1 – All about me and Families
