Safeguarding

SAFEGUARDING AT LIONEL PRIMARY SCHOOL

Staff and Governors at Lionel are aware that many children are the victims of different kinds of abuse, including domestic violence, substance misuse, bullying, mental health and radicalisation.

Through our curriculum we teach children to stay safe and happy and we encourage them to share their worries with their trusted adult.

What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding means making sure children grow up safe, happy and healthy.

There are 4 elements of Safeguarding

Protecting children from maltreatment

Preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development

Making sure children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care

Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes
