SL Centre Peach Class

Welcome Peaches!

Class Teacher: Mrs K. Russell

Learning Support Assistant: Ms J. Martin

PPA Cover (Monday): Ms A.

We will hear the children read regularly.  Please read with your child at home and sign their reading record whenever you read or share a book with them.  Some books may have pictures and no text, in this case please talk to the children about the pictures and ask them questions about what they think might be happening.  Once the children have learnt their sounds, encourage them to use their sounds to read the words.

Library Books:

Every Friday the children can choose a book from the class library.  These are the children’s own choice and you can read them with them or let the children look at them independently.  Please return them on Friday and make sure these books are looked after.

The children will have spellings or sounds to practice every week.

Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday

(PE kit: navy shorts, white ‘Lionel’ tee-shirt and black plimsols – in winter the children can wear navy track-suit bottoms).

Homework and learning activities will be set on Google Classroom.

You can also look on the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pages for ideas to support your child.

Please make sure your child has a water bottle.  This can be refilled if needed.  Fruit is also available every day at playtimes, but you can send in a small, healthy snack (no nuts or chocolate please) if you wish to.

Also, please make sure everything your child brings in is labelled.  An identifiable keyring is a useful addition to a rucksack or book bag to make sure it is easily recognised by your child.

If you have any questions please speak to Ms Martin or myself; write a message in your child’s home/school diary or email:
