Letters from Lockdown
The Children’s Bookshow, which usually would be running a whole host of theatre performances and school workshops now, has invited children’s authors, poets and illustrators to introduce themselves to children by writing a handwritten or illustrated letter. The hope is that these letters will inspire and encourage children perhaps to write a letter of their own during this strange time. All the letters can be read by following the link below:

Earth Shattering Events
Non-fiction fans might enjoy Cicada Publishing's Earth Shattering Events - an appealing non-fiction book about natural disasters, which has been recently made available as a free PDF book for children to read during lockdown.
Publisher DK has also created an excellent home learning hub, which includes free access to full colour spreads from a number of their popular non-fiction titles.
